Jet Set Radio skating onto Android 'this summer'

Android Central

Here's a blast from the past for everyone. Sega has been pretty good at bringing us some of our favorite games from yesteryear to play on our Android devices, and this summer we get to play another one. It's been announced today that the HD remake of Jet Set Radio, due to land on consoles, will also be coming to Android.

Anyone who owned a Sega Dreamcast will quite possibly remember, fondly, Jet Set Radio from the first time around. In my case, I've still got a copy. The mobile version will have some mobile-centric features too, one of which is Openfeint integration. Apparently, players will also be able to use pictures taken on their device as the in-game graffiti. Now that's a nice touch. Just don't do anything rude with it, OK, kids.

We're really looking forward to this one, and despite no more accurate date than "this summer," we're sure it's going to be worth waiting for. Check out the full press release after the break.

Australia - Radio Watch

Last month the Victorian Regional and Rural Development Minister Peter Ryan released a state Regional Communication Policy, and the commercial radio industry has now written to all other State Premiers and Chief Ministers urging them to consider a similar policy. While Communications is a federal policy area, states control the way they spend money with regional media and how they communicate their messages to regional populations, and this is the area the Victorian policy covers.

The Victorian policy document says ?regional media is important in reaching into the community and should be explicitly considered when targeting regional audiences.? It requires a minimum of 15% of total annual campaign expenditure to be spend with regional and rural media. Read the Victorian policy here.?

CRA Chief executive Joan Warner says the recently announced Victorian Regional Communication Policy is ?a good step? in more actively engaging with regional media outlets to communicate critical information to local communities.

?Regional media plays an important role in the lives of many Australians. Regional commercial radio stations, in particular, have a unique relationship with the nearly 80% of Australians who listen to commercial radio.?

Around 6.9 million Australians listen to commercial radio in regional Australia each week and one in five are heavy listeners of radio.

The Real Reason to Build A Targeted Email List | Scarsongs

Building an email list happens to be one of the most important steps of your online business. People who visit your website, who can be your potential customers, could be missed if you have no means to get back to them. Plainly speaking, you?re looking at possibly thousands of lost opportunities for extra money and business growth if you don?t have a list. If you can keep communicating with your site visitors, then you?re assured of making more sales in the future. Besides this, research has already proven that people usually do not buy on their first visit. So if you fail to get contact info, more than likely you?ll lost that customer. All successful online marketers point to the value of list building because the greatest profits can be found in the backend. It does not matter what kind of online business you have, if you neglect to build your ist, then you?re just leaving cash on the table. You can really build-up your business reputation by having a list. The more people know you as an expert, the easier it will be for you to sell to them. In this article we will be discussing a few list building tactics that show you how to build your list the right way.

One of the easiest tactics that many people don?t use is to create their own brand. People who sign up for mailing lists want to see you as being a trusted source of information that matters to their interests. Those subscribers aren?t interested in receiving emails that contain the same rehashed information that every one else is sending. They?d much rather see that you?re a real person, with a real personality. So, when you?re creating your emails to send out to your list, include some of your own style and uniqueness in the writing tone.

Don?t make the error of pretending to be something you?re not and don?t try copying what someone else is doing. This is your brand and it only works when it?s all about being uniquely you. And the only way to do that is by being yourself. Keep reminding yourself of this at all times. After a while, your subscribers will recognize you from your competition by your personality. As you begin to brand yourself, people?s trust in you grows and they feel more comfortable buying from someone they trust.

Your offer to get people to opt-in to your list needs to be a good quality offer. The most important consideration about your free offer is that it has value and seems different. You need to determine why it?s different and tell people about it. People are being bribed every day on the Internet, but the best way to win the game is to give something of value. Ecourses no longer bring much response as they once did, and that?s because they are not viewed as being valuable.

Several powerful ways to stir interest is with videos and audios such as expert interviews. There are numerous ways to make a great free offer. Just be sure you stay with what works when you find one that works for you.

If you?re an online marketer who yet to create a list, then you?ve been ignoring the facts. If you?re serious and want a long-term, profitable business, then get going with building a quality list of targeted subscribers.

Cardamom ? Esscentual Alchemy

Cardamom (or cardamon) refers to several plants of the similar genera Elettaria and Amomum in the ginger family Zingiberaceae. Both genera are native to India, Nepal and Bhutan; they are recognised by their small seed pods, triangular in cross-section and spindle-shaped, with a thin, papery, outer shell and small black seeds. Today, the majority of cardamom is still grown in southern India, although some other countries, such as Guatemala and Sri Lanka, have also begun to cultivate it. Elettaria pods are light green while Amomum pods are larger and dark brown.

It is the world?s third most expensive spice by weight, outstripped in market value only by saffron and vanilla.

The word ?cardamom? is derived from the Latin cardamomum, itself the latinisation of the Greek ?????????? (kardamomon), a compound of ???????? (kardamon), ?cress? + ?????? (amomon), which was the name for a kind of an Indian spice plant.? The earliest attested form of the word is the Mycenaean Greek ka-da-mi-ja, written in Linear B syllabic script in the list of flavourings on the ?Spice? tablets found among palace archives in the House of the Sphinxes in Mycenae.

The two main genera of the ginger family named as forms of cardamom are distributed as follows:

  • Elettaria (commonly called cardamom, green cardamom, or true cardamom) is distributed from India to Malaysia.
  • Amomum (commonly known as black cardamom, brown cardamom, kravan, Java cardamom, Bengal cardamom, Siamese cardamom, white cardamom, or red cardamom) is distributed mainly in Asia and Australia.

The two types, ?????????? and ?????? were distinguished in the fourth century BCE by the Greek father of botany, Theophrastus, some of whose informants told him they came to Greece from the land of the Medes in northern Persia, while others were aware it came originally from India.

Elettaria cardamomum is used as a food plant by the larvae of the moth Endoclita hosei.

There were initially three natural varieties of green cardamom plants.

  • Malabar (Nadan/Native), as the name suggests, is the native variety of Kerala. These plants have panicles which grow horizontally along the ground.
  • Mysore, as the name suggests, is a native variety of Karnataka. These plants have panicles which grow vertically upwards.
  • Vazhuka is a naturally occurring hybrid between Malabar and Mysore varieties, and the panicles grow neither vertically nor horizontally, but in between.

Recently, a few planters isolated high-yielding plants and started multiplying them on a large scale. The most popular high-yielding variety is ?Njallani?. ?Njallani, also known as rup-ree-t, is a unique high-yielding cardamom variety developed by an Indian farmer, Sebastian Joseph, at Kattappana in the South Indian state of Kerala.? K J Baby of Idukki district, Kerala, has developed a purely white flowered variety of Vazhuka type green cardamom having higher yield than ?Njallani?. The variety has high adaptability to different shade conditions and can also be grown in waterlogged areas.

Both forms of cardamom are used as flavorings in both food and drink, as cooking spices and as a medicine. E. cardamomum (the usual type of cardamom) is used as a spice, a masticatory, and in medicine; it is also smoked sometimes.

Cardamom has a strong, unique taste, with an intensely aromatic, resinous fragrance. Black cardamom has a distinctly more smokey, though not bitter, aroma, with a coolness some consider similar to mint.

Green cardamom is one of the most expensive spices by weight, but little is needed to impart the flavor. It is best stored in pod form because once the seeds are exposed or ground, they quickly lose their flavor. However, high-quality ground cardamom is often more readily (and cheaply) available and is an acceptable substitute. For recipes requiring whole cardamom pods, a generally accepted equivalent is 10 pods equals 1? teaspoons of ground cardamom.

It is a common ingredient in Indian cooking and is often used in baking in Nordic countries, such as in the Finnish sweet bread pulla or in the Scandinavian bread Julekake. In the Middle East, green cardamom powder is used as a spice for sweet dishes, as well as traditional flavouring in coffee and tea. Cardamom pods are ground together with coffee beans to produce a powdered mixture of the two, which is boiled with water to make coffee. Cardamom is used to some extent in savoury dishes. In some Middle Eastern countries, coffee and cardamom are often ground in a wooden mortar, a mihbaj, and cooked together in a skillet, a mehmas, over wood or gas, to produce mixtures as much as 40% cardamom.

In South Asia, green cardamom is often used in traditional Indian sweets and in masala chai (spiced tea). Black cardamom is sometimes used in garam masala for curries. It is occasionally used as a garnish in basmati rice and other dishes. It is often referred to as fat cardamom due to its size. Individual seeds are sometimes chewed and used in much the same way as chewing gum; it is even used by Wrigley?s (?Eclipse Breeze Exotic Mint?) where it states ?with cardamom to neutralize the toughest breath odors.? It has been known to be used for gin making.

Green cardamom is broadly used in South Asia to treat infections in teeth and gums, to prevent and treat throat troubles, congestion of the lungs and pulmonary tuberculosis, inflammation of eyelids and also digestive disorders. It also is used to break up kidney stones and gall stones, and was reportedly used as an antidote for both snake and scorpion venom. Amomum is used as a spice and as an ingredient in traditional medicine in systems of the traditional Chinese medicine in China, in Ayurveda in India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Species in the genus Amomum are also used in traditional Indian medicine. Among other species, varieties and cultivars, Amomum villosum cultivated in China, Laos and Vietnam is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat stomach issues, constipation, dysentery, and other digestion problems. Tsaoko cardamom Amomum tsao-ko is cultivated in Yunnan, China and northwest Vietnam, both for medicinal purposes and as a spice. Increased demand since the 1980s, principally from China, for both Amomum villosum and Amomum tsao-ko has provided a key source of income for poor farmers living at higher altitudes in localized areas of China, Laos and Vietnam, people typically isolated from many other markets. Until recently, Nepal had been the world?s largest producer of large cardamom. Guatemala has become the world?s biggest producer and exporter of cardamom, with an export total of US$ 137.2 million for 2007.

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) essential oil is a a coloreless to pale yellow liquid displaying a warm, rich, spicy-aromatic bouquet with a penetrating camphoraceous-medicinal topnote and a?lovely balsamic-woody dryout.

In natural perfumery used in spice accords, Oriental bases, incense creations, ayurvedic compositions, chypre, fougere, men?s colognes, high class florals, culinary perfumes.

?In perfumery it will not only impart spiceness, but also a warm, sweet note which fits into floral bases such as muguet and rose. ..The oil imparts warmth in Oriental perfume bases, chypres and face powder perfumes.?-Steffen Arctander.

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) co2 select extract? from Guatemala is a pale yellow to brown liquid displaying a rich, warm, spicy-aromatic bouquet with a lovely sweet balsamic, delicate floral undertone of good tenacity.

In perfumery can be used as a warm accent note in floral perfumes, oriental bouquets, culinary creations, incense blends, chypres, after shave lotions, spice accords.

The Rural Stops: Important Company And Personnel Standards ...

Venturing into business means putting a lot of attention and hard work into a profitable product or service. Any businessman undergoes the necessity to create decisions on countless different things all the time, and being able to manage all the duties (or adequately assign them to an ideal and well-trained team) and confidently intercept any curveballs one by one determines his or her success in the acquired industry niche.

Additionally, a business owner's responsibilities do not finish and end at creating a strategy and accomplishing it adequately. Start-ups and gigantic companies both consist of groups of people performing to carry out various tasks that ultimately contribute to the flawless, successful performance of the whole project. Company people and top level managers have to see to it that each worker arrives every day to a safe and healthy workplace. For a systematized means of retaining occupational health and safety (OHS), companies and businesses have to abide by safety regulations and organize an OHS manual that is suitable for the nature of their organization.

Small businesses generally employ 15 employees or less, while medium-sized employers can obtain around 200 staff members. It's necessary for owners to produce a workplace that promotes safety and dismisses employees from situations that may happen in accidents and traumas or the development or complications of infections. A work health and safety (WHS) manual sample must be used to help businesses in the needed procedures for drawing up a document that business employers and employees alike can consult for advise on sustaining safety all the time.

Another reason to buy WHS manual samples is to ensure that bosses generate a document that is simple to read and easy for any person to understand. It wouldn't help anyone should the document comprises of perplexing and uncertain passages that can be misunderstood in many ways, ultimately arising in a manual that falters to completely teach people on protective matters. The WHS manual needs to clearly indicate all the risks that may show up within their specific company and lay down procedures for managing those concerns and blocking the existence of critical accidents.

Business owners in the manufacturing, transport, retail, engineering and consultancy, and car dealership industries oftentimes employ a lot of people and can utilize possibly hazardous equipment and substances. Trustworthy employers have to have a solid OHS strategy that certifies safe working conditions for everyone involved.

Online auctions are auctions held over World wide web which has propelled their scope and reach to a level beyond its initial anticipation. Online bidding may be done for various reasons. For some, it is a hobby and a nice way of supplementing their income. For others, online auctioning is a job. It is a good way to find the best deals on rare items or even everyday items for buyers.
What should one look for in an auction site?
promoting and buying stuff online should not only be fun and easy, but also safe. Due to high reachability, online auctions have turned out to be platforms for hauling out all kinds of unlawful activities, with many falling sufferer and having themselves conned. The web-sites should also be easy to navigate as well as supply a wide selection of classes, promoting options and a clear-cut response forum. In addition, there should be detailed pages offering information concerning the items including pictures.
One requirements to watch out for the adhering to before transacting on a bidding site:
Fees
Several auction web sites cost fees which may include listing fees, registration as well as final value fees. Sellers don?t want to pay listing fees in order to increase their income from listings. As a seller, this is one factor that demands to be considered.
marketing
A seller should have maximum control over their classes. They should be able to stop bidders, disclose information about their items and of course decide on their category and listing. Shill bidding
This involves placing of fake bids so that the final auction price ends up being unfairly higher than should be. This is an illegal exercise and is a violation to the european Union fair buying and selling rules.

food and thrift: Zucchini in Tomato Sauce...and Restaurant Review

I hope you have an extra few minutes to hang out on my blog...just wanted to share the latest...I mean the really most recent, meaning, from yesterday's event! What a wonderful day I've had yesterday, that was totally unplanned.
I'm so happy that my family is back now, from Italy, and I'm back in my own little place, with my sweet little Persian kitty, Mush, who I rarely mention, and I've had her since she was a kitten, 13 years ago...and she is still the size of a kitten, has not grown much, but so cute and sweet. She was my beloved Prince kitties constant companion...and now, my little 'shadow'...always been sweet and aloof, but now that Prince is gone, she constantly wants to be around me!

Linking to:Hearth and Soul Blog Hop @ Zesty South Indian Kitchen?

I'm not starting out with the restaurant review...although that came earlier, at lunch time, but for dinner, I made this batch of zucchini for a light dinner, just enjoying it with crusty slices of bread. Still have plenty left over, which could be added over pasta of your choice! So easy to make, and so delicious.

Zucchini is in season now, and so abundant in our supermarkets, and especially in the fresh produce market. I also picked up a small batch of thyme, a bunch of Italian parsley, and decided to make a different herb version for my zucchini and tomato sauce.

Zucchini in Tomato Sauce
created by; Elisabeth

4 small zucchini sliced,(but not too thin)
1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
salt and pepper to taste
a handful of Italian parsley chopped
few sprigs of thyme snipped, or
(you can use basil, rosemary, or your
favorite herbs)
1 cup fresh, or canned tomato sauce
(I used Flora tomato sauce)
3 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 cup white wine, or vegetable broth

In a large cast iron, or non-stick skillet, saute onion and garlic first, for about 5 minutes, add the sliced zucchini, and saute over medium high heat to get a little color on them. Add the wine, or broth, let it cook down a little...another 5 minutes longer.

Add the tomato sauce, and let it cook for another 10 to 15 minutes. The entire cooking time should not take more than 25 minutes. Serve over pasta, or just simply enjoy with crusty bread of your choice...and there's your 30 minute meal. You can also grate Parmesan cheese on top if you prefer!

Simple, and easy...guaranteed that you will love it, if you like zucchini, this is a great way for kids to enjoy their veggies...smothered in tomato sauce!

...and now, for the Restaurant Review!
Come along with me, to Delray Beach, Florida...about a 30 minute ride from West Palm Beach...a second South Beach type of atmosphere... (with less crazy people)
About a little over 3 years ago, I lived in the vicinity of this awesome little tourist city,? that I know, so well. It has changed and have grown, even in the last few years...according to my son-in-law Fabrizio, he said that I'm acting like a 'tourist' taking so many photos! Well, maybe so...but I really enjoyed the early part of the day, with my family, and a nice lunch, and walking around up and down Atlantic Avenue, in Delray Beach...even though it was a cloudy day, and later pouring rain!

Fabrizio, and granddaughter Gabby, and trailing behind...Luca, (Lora) in background...not shown, and me always taking photos!

Ahh, here we are Lemongrass, Japanese Restaurant...haven't been here in 2yrs...food is so good, and a pleasant friendly atmosphere!
There's 2 identical section like this...2 bars, so if you have too much Saki to drink...you may think you're seeing double!...no Saki for me, it's only a little over 12: noon! (Lora in the blue shirt, walking in)
I ordered the Lemongrass soup, with mussels, squid, scallops and fish...a light lemony hot 'paprika' broth...did not know that they use Hungarian paprika in Japanese cuisine...I loved it, it really 'hit the spot'. Fabrizio ordered the same thing.

We all shared these 2 rolls...the front one was called ...Volcano Rolls...some really yummy sauce, not spicy...covering the rolls...even the little guy enjoyed it, wanting to learn how to eat with chopsticks!

Gabby's Pad Thai noodles, with chicken...and some brown rice from Lora's shrimp and brown rice...on the same plate...really delicious, (but not crazy about the presentation)
Since no-one would pose for me...all you can see them is walking, and me taking photos of other restaurant buildings...such as this lovely building on the corner, next to the railroad track...for years, this building was a breakfast eatery...then, abandoned for a few years, and in the last ten years, it's been a chic eatery, and always packed on the weekend, and during season. (didn't check the name of the place, but dined there 2yrs ago)As we were strolling down the avenue...I spotted these gorgeous expensive dogs...their masters walking them...
I don't know the breed of these beautiful dogs...just took the picture, and thanked the owner (no time to ask for permission)...but they said "you're welcome"...isn't it nice how people can be so friendly, and courteous?
Just look at the strong legs on those doggies...wonder if they are poodles...just have them groomed differently!
On this corner, is a very nice seafood restaurant...outdoor eating has a fresh mist blowing...you can even see the mist, above the entrance where it says...Lobster Roll!
?Heading on to this 'parkway' ...there is a brand new amazing restaurant...gigantic outdoor eating, and indoor, as well!...check this out!
This is all part of one restaurant...I have not seen this until now, since they've only opened a few months ago! Totally, amazing!
This was my very favorite...beautiful, and just check out the upstairs...two stories. Love the architecture of the modern building!
A whimsical gift shop, with art, as well...wonder if these cute sculptures are for sale?...love the turtles! So, that was a very nice day, well spent, and totally NOT planned. This is how my family plans events like this...sometimes at the 'spur of the moment'. Have a wonderful day, and hope you're not suffering the heat! We are having 10 degrees cooler temps. now...only about 88 degrees the highest...just lots of rain every day...and mostly grey skies!

NYT: Movement bubbles up against NYC soda ban

Lobbyists from Coca-Cola and other big soda companies have met with mayoral candidates and City Council members. Canvassers hired by the beverage industry are stopping New Yorkers on the street and urging them to sign petitions. Facebook and Twitter pages tell readers to ?say no to a #sodaban.?

Confronting a high-profile attack on its fizzy products, the American soft-drink industry is beginning an aggressive campaign to fight New York City?s proposed restrictions on large sugary drinks.

Hoping for a debate about freedom, not fatness, the industry has created a grassroots-style coalition called New Yorkers for Beverage Choices to coordinate its public relations efforts in the city. On Thursday, the group introduced its first radio spot, a one-minute advertisement featuring ?Noo Yawk?-accented actors proclaiming, ?This is about protecting our freedom of choice.?

?This is New York City; no one tells us what neighborhood to live in or what team to root for,? says the narrator, as Yankees and Mets fans shout in the background. ?So are we going to let our mayor tell us what size beverage to buy?? Adds one Brooklyn-tinged voice: ?It?s unbelievable!?

The charge is being led by the industry?s leading trade group, the Washington-based American Beverage Association, which has retained several powerhouse political consultants for the cause, including the strategists responsible for the ?Harry and Louise? television advertisements that helped defeat President Bill Clinton?s health care plan in the 1990s.

The beverage association would not disclose its budget for the New York campaign, though a spokesman said the group was ?prepared to utilize whatever resources are necessary.?

The city has also waged a campaign to influence public opinion. Since 2009 it has run five waves of advertising, in subways, in print, on the Internet and on television, linking soda consumption to obesity. The campaign has cost $2.8 million, 87 percent of which was paid by the federal government.

The battle is a consequential one for the soda industry, which is on the defensive as public health officials increasingly cite sweetened beverages as a major contributor to America?s runaway obesity rate. The industry has already committed tens of millions of dollars to help defeat proposed taxes and regulations on their products across the country ? in Albany, the industry spent $13 million in 2010 to successfully lobby the Legislature to reject a proposed 1-cent-an-ounce state tax on sodas.

But the industry has been facing even more challenges since May 30 when Mr. Bloomberg proposed banning the sale of sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces in regulated food establishments, including in movie theaters and sports arenas. The mayor of Cambridge, Mass., Henrietta Davis, has proposed that her city take a similar step, and Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, a New Jersey Democrat, proposed a federal study of the link between sugary beverages and obesity.

The industry faces an particularly tough fight in New York City, because the proposed restrictions require approval only by the Board of Health, whose members were appointed by Mr. Bloomberg. The board plans to hold a public hearing on the proposal on July 24, and the industry, as a first step, hopes to encourage opponents to show up in droves.

The Bloomberg administration said it was unsurprised by the industry?s efforts to stymie the plan.

?There?s an impartial group of health experts who are going to make the decision,? said Howard Wolfson, a deputy mayor who is shepherding the proposed ban. ?I think they will be influenced by science, and not any P.R. campaign.?

Soda executives are vague about their long-term strategy, saying they are focused for now on recruiting local businesses, unions and lawmakers to join their cause. But the City Council speaker, Christine C. Quinn, and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, seemingly closing the door on city or state legislative action, have said that they do not wish to get involved. The industry said it was also considering a court challenge, but only after the regulatory process was completed.

In recent weeks, lobbyists from Coca-Cola met with three likely mayoral candidates: Bill de Blasio, the public advocate, and Scott M. Stringer, the Manhattan borough president, who support the proposed restrictions; and William C. Thompson, a former city comptroller, who does not. The company also reached out to Ms. Quinn, another likely candidate for mayor, but has not met with her.

?This is the stuff that you would expect any industry to do,? said Christopher Gindlesperger, a spokesman for the American Beverage Association. ?It?s important, regardless of the endgame here, to make sure people understand the impact of this thing, to let them know how it will impact their daily lives.?

On June 20, representatives of soda companies, local restaurants and movie theaters ? all of whom oppose the mayor?s plan ? met for an hour with four members of the City Council?s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus.

?There was a discussion about joining forces with the industry, and we are considering that,? said Councilwoman Letitia James, who invited the industry to meet with her colleagues. She said members of her caucus mostly opposed Mr. Bloomberg?s plan, saying the portion restrictions could put a disproportionate financial burden on lower-income families and small businesses. Ms. James said that she and other Council members would consider filing a brief in support of any lawsuit brought by the industry.

Was soda served at the meeting? ?No refreshments at all,? Ms. James said, ?other than the water cooler.?

The beverage industry ? like the tobacco industry before it ? has cultivated relationships with minority lawmakers, arguing that minority communities are disproportionately affected by sales regulations.

?There?s one thing that all of these bans and attacks and other discriminatory proposals have in common, and that is that they?re regressive,? Mr. Gindlesperger said. ?They?re discriminatory in that they target our products; they are regressive in that they target low- and middle-income families.?

Critics of the soda industry say its New York campaign follows a familiar playbook. ?The talking points are ?Nanny State,? that it won?t work, because people will just buy as much as they ever would, and that this disproportionately hurts the poor,? said Kelly Brownell, director of the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University.

In New York, though, some strategists questioned why the industry would spend time speaking with City Council members, since the Council is effectively powerless to overrule the mayor.

The beverage association also learned an early lesson about Mr. Bloomberg?s overwhelming influence around the city. Last year, the group retained SKD Knickerbocker, an influential consulting firm that produced advertisements for Mr. Bloomberg?s mayoral campaigns, to advise its political strategy in New York.

When a Knickerbocker spokesman, speaking for the beverage industry, denounced the mayor?s plan last month, Mr. Bloomberg?s camp was taken aback, according to several people with direct knowledge of the situation.

Allies of Mr. Bloomberg conveyed their anger to the firm. The company still represents the beverage association, but is no longer working on the soda-ban issue.
