Recently we?ve visited Hong Kong over the last weekend of July, to attend their????????, or ACGHK convention. We?ll be having several posts to this trip, but as we?re still sorting out the photos, we?ll kick-start the first post about a place in Hong Kong that we recommend cosplayers and japanese pop culture fans alike to visit: A maid cafe!
We visited the most well-known cafe in Hong Kong,?Cafe Dre@m?n @kiba. It?s pretty accessible, a 5 minutes? walk from the nearest MTR, Yau Ma Tei. At 43H Dundas Street, the building is pretty easy to access, with many floors full of different theme cafes.
Taking the lift up to the 19th floor?s also pretty conveniently brings you to the entrance of the maid cafe.
At the entrance:
A very warm and hearty welcome was given upon entrance; and we were promptly whisked to a comfortable table in the corner, facing the full cafe.
No proficiency with Cantonese, but thankfully members of the staff were able to converse in both English and Mandarin/ ?Putonghua? as what the locals know the language as.
A quick and clear introduction to the menu was given together with a porcelain bell that we could ring at any time to call a maid over. Pretty responsive with great service attitudes.
Visitors to the cafe seemed like quite a variety. Cosplayers from the ACG event came over in their costumes, there were also many other local groups/couples/singles seated at various tables. There was a party going on in their ?event room? with over 10 teenagers in their school attires.
The kitchen was actually just behind us, but the atmosphere was preserved with big colored cloths sealing out the culinary preparations? sounds and sights.
Technically, photos inside were not allowed, but we checked and photos of the food could still be taken.
The delicious soup that came with each main course for only HKD8 (About US$1):
Soup and drinks, while waiting for the main dish!
Strawberry crushed ice drink. We?re using our own merchandise purchased from the ACG convention.
The main course: Omelette rice with a hearty dose of tomato drawing!
Also made the omelette ?more delicious? by performing a Moe Moe Kyun routine with the serving maid.
Our first time at a proper maid cafe but we?ve heard about it online so the routine wasn?t a problem. Plenty of meat and rice, and pretty delicious as well.
We also signed up to be a member, at HKD10. Every HKD100 gets a membership point, and points can be used for certain requests with food, or interactions with the maids.

Our partner having a drink as well.
The cafe also has interesting events such as dances and performances. On the night of our visit, it was someone?s birthday, so there was a mini dance performance by a maid accompanied by an appropriate song in tow, to celebrate.

Definitely a recommended To-Go venue for an excellent maid cafe experience, nice food, good service, great atmosphere ^.^ Will go again next year when we visit Hong Kong once more.
