The weekend is upon us, and this one is a long one, at least for me and the kids. ?My Preschooler has Monday off, and my husband is working.
Regardless, even though I love the weekends because we?re all together, I sometimes find them more challenging than the rest of the week.
Our schedules are off. ?The kids usually go to bed later if we?re out and about or have dinner with friends. ?When we stay home, they can get cabin fever, which is a whole other animal.
It?s much more difficult to get them to nap on the weekends. ?In fact, my preschooler naps at school every week day but refuses to nap on the weekends.
Then, there?s moments like last weekend, when I thought I was going to lose it after a sugar-filled birthday party. Luckily, that situation worked out.
But meanwhile, I really love doing things together as a family. I love that there?s no pressure to go anywhere at any specific time, and that we don?t have to rush people out of the house in the morning. I love to ?go to our favorite bagel place and the local airport to watch the planes take off and land. We see ?friends and go to parties. ?It?s also nice to share the bedtime routine duties.
Weekends are almost always more exhausting than what goes on during the week, so when Monday rolls around, I?m usually ready, especially with an extra day.
How about you? Do you find weekends harder or easier than during the week?
